The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is the national nonprofit organization representing nearly 3,000 local health departments across the United States. Together, we form an organization focused on being leaders, partners, catalysts, and voices for change for local health departments around the nation. NACCHO’s radiation portfolio is led by the Preparedness Team, which supports an advisory group comprised of local health department officials and public health preparedness professionals with radiation subject matter expertise. In collaboration with the advisory group and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NACCHO is working to increase local health department awareness of tools, resources, and information related to radiological preparedness.
