The National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO) is the lead national organization for emergency medical services (EMS), a respected voice for national EMS policy with comprehensive concern and commitment for the development of effective, integrated, community-based, universal and consistent EMS systems. Our membership consists of representatives from 50 states and 6 U.S. territories with the legal authority to regulate various components of the EMS System. NASEMSO supports its members through program coordination, communications, and focused, personal interactions among interested parties that serve to identify performance benchmarks and best practices that ultimately help states meet their responsibilities towards public protection. NASEMSO serves as an influencer to assist states, and therefore state licensees, to conform with national standards. NASEMSO’s radiation program involvement is led by the Health and Medical Preparedness Council (HMPC). The HMPC supports its members by identifying and prioritizing policy, preparedness and programmatic initiatives of state and EMS agencies through collaboration with local, state, and federal partners.
