The Department of Homeland Security supports radiological emergency preparedness primarily through activities of FEMA, Science and Technology (S&T), and the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office. The CWMD Office provides support through the Integrated Consortium of Laboratory Networks (ICLN), Mobile Detection Deployment Program (MDDP) and the Global Nuclear Detection Architecture (GNDA), as well as supporting the interagency with medical and technical subject matter expertise.
